Have you ever looked at a sewing machine and thought, "That looks cool... but also kind of scary?" You are not alone.
For a lot of us, sewing feels intimidating! Let's be honest...there are are so many buttons, threads, and terms that feel like another language. And somewhere along the way, many of us got the message that if you’re not immediately “good” at something, it’s not for you.
Confidence doesn’t come from doing it perfectly. It comes from doing it in the first place.
That’s exactly why I created the Build Your Confidence in Sewing workshop!
It’s an in-person workshop for anyone who’s curious, a little nervous and needs a confidence boost, or just wants no-pressure place to start sewing.
What This Workshop Is All About
This isn’t a class about churning out perfect seams or completing a project start-to-finish.
My idea was always about the main concern of people not having enough confidence, for whatever reason, to start or get back to sewing.
It’s a space to explore, play, and get to know your sewing machine without pressure.
We will cover the basics, like threading your machine, trying different stitches, and troubleshooting common issues...but the real goal is to help you feel comfortable.
Expect hands-on practice, simple demos, and lots of encouragement.
You will get to “mess up” on purpose just to see what happens (because that’s how we learn!), try a few beginner techniques, and ask all the questions you have been too shy to ask.
FAQ
Do I need any sewing experience?
Nope! This workshop is designed for total beginners. You don’t need to know anything about sewing, just bring your curiosity and willingness to learn.
Do I need to bring a sewing machine?
No need! Sewing machines and all materials will be provided for you. Just reserve your spot, show up and we will take care of the rest.
What should I bring?
You don’t need to bring anything, but feel free to bring a notebook, a water bottle, or fabric scraps if you want to play with something specific. Totally optional.
What if I mess up?
You are supposed to mess up! This is a low-pressure, judgment-free space to try things out, make mistakes, ask questions, and learn by doing.
Can I bring a friend?
If space allows, yes! Just make sure each person registers individually since spots are limited.
What if I have a specific question or something I want to learn?
Perfect! There’s time set aside for open play and Q&A! Bring your questions or ideas, and we will help however we can.

Me, Bianca Silva! Sewing tutor, confidence-builder, and your guide through all the wobbly beginner stuff.
