Hi, My name is Bianca Silva!

I’m South African born and raised with Portuguese heritage.

I started a professional career in aviation and am now a sewing tutor, pattern designer and content creator.

Who Am I

I’m Bianca, a former Inflight Safety and Security Instructor for an airline.

I became a content creator and sewing teacher after having to leave my job in the air, to care for my 2 young daughters on the ground.

I loved teaching and helping others achieve their goals, so I knew teaching had to remain a part of my life. The only other thing I felt confident to teach was sewing, so here we are.

My goal now is to inspire you to build your confidence in the art of sewing!

  • I had a 14 year career in aviation, which included being an Inflight Attendant and Safety and Security Instructor on a Boeing aircraft.
  • I have lived in South Africa, Portugal, Madeira, Spain, Germany and now live in Manchester, UK.
  • I speak English, Afrikaans, Portuguese and Spanish.
  • I met my partner at work and I still remember the exact scenario where I saw him for the first time (he doesn’t though!).
  • We have been together 12 years now and have 2 gorgeous little girls.
  • I started focusing on content creation in September 2022, right after quitting my job.
  • I launched my first sewing social session - Sew&Bond in July 2023 where only 2 people attended, followed by a sewing workshop in September, where only one person came.
  • Launched my first sewing pattern in March 2025 - Roma Necessaire.
  • I like eating lemons with salt.
  • I am super scared of spiders and going deeper than waist height in sea water.
  • Ken Follet is my all-time favourite book author!
