Sold-Out Valentine’s Workshop at Janome HQ: Patchwork Heart Quilted Pouch

What a great day we had at Janome HQ working on these Patchwork Heart Quilted Zipper Pouches and even better, the workshop sold out very quickly.

This Valentine’s workshop was designed to be immersive, welcoming, and truly hands-on.

From beginners to experienced sewists, everyone spent the day sewing, problem-solving, and creating something completely their own.

 

About the Workshop

Each attendee received a fully prepared kit, carefully assembled in advance so that no two kits were the same. This kept every pouch unique while still guiding everyone through the same core techniques.

Over the course of six hours, participants worked through:

- Patchwork
- Quilting
- Creating a ruffle detail
- Inserting a zipper
- Constructing a finished, functional pouch

Despite the range of experience levels in the room, everyone completed their bag - a huge achievement and a testament to the atmosphere and preparation that went into the day.

The Experience

Every detail was thought through ahead of time so attendees could focus on sewing and enjoying the process.

There was:

- A small gift for everyone
- Food and refreshments
- Hot drinks, water, and a relaxed, supportive environment

The energy in the room was fantastic! Everyone was focused, creative, and full of encouragement. Seeing each pouch come together differently, despite following the same pattern, was incredibly rewarding.
