Before you start
What You'll Need
Everything is listed in the pattern too - this is just so you can check before you buy.
Fabric & Materials
- Approx. 1 metre of fabric total
- Sew-in foam, fusible foam, or batting
- Light/medium fusible interfacing
- Cotton poplin, quilting cotton, or polycotton recommended
Notions
- 2 x 12" zippers (or longer, cut to size)
- 1 x 8" zipper (for optional interior pocket)
- 24" (61cm) of zipper tape + 1 zipper pull
- 4 x 1-inch swivel clasps (for handles)
Tools
- Rotary cutter, ruler & mat
- Pins or clips
- Marking tool (chalk, heat-erasable pen, etc.)
- Zipper foot (walking foot helpful but not essential)
- Fabric adhesive spray (if using sew-in foam or batting)
Not sure which stabiliser to choose?
Sew-in Foam
Adds structure and thickness. Best for heat-sensitive fabrics.
Fusible Foam
Bonds to fabric with heat. Great structure - only use with iron-safe fabrics.
Batting
Soft and flexible, less rigid. Perfect for a quilted look.
