Sew Your Own Trousers Workshop

Before the workshop:

- A paper copy of the Thea Trousers patterns posted to you before the workshop.

- Please prepare your pattern and cut your fabric before arrival. This helps us focus on constructing the trousers and analysing them to see where fit can be improved.

- A pre-workshop questionnaire will be sent via email to help tailor the workshop content.

On the day of the workshop:

- Sew the Thea Trousers by Tilly and the Buttons.

- Learn key construction techniques.

- Discuss common fit issues.

- Receive support throughout the day.

- 6.5 hours of guided instruction in a focused, hands-on group.

Please note: During this workshop, we will be sewing the trousers with front pockets but we will omit the welt/patch pockets to keep within the session time. If you would like, you can add these later.

- Paper copy of the Thea Trousers.

- A full-day in person workshop.
- Sewing machine and tools to use during the session.
- Lunch, tea, coffee and water are included.

Supplies Needed:

- Your pattern that was sent out
- Main fabric
- Lining fabric
- Interfacing(similar weight to your fabric)
- 15cm close ended zip
- 15mm button with shank or jeans button

Fabric Suggestions:

Main - Medium-weight woven fabrics such as linen, twill, denim, corduroy, triple crepe, wool suiting.
Lining - Light to medium-weight cotton, viscose.

The size range for the Thea trousers is from 33-61 inch hip.

This workshop is ideal for those who are ready to take the next step in garment making or who would like support sewing their first pair of trousers.

You should be comfortable using a sewing machine and have completed a few sewing projects before attending.

Previous garment making experience is helpful but not essential.

This workshop may be perfect for you if:

- You have made simple garments and are ready for a new challenge.
- You have been curious about sewing trousers but feel intimidated by the process
- You enjoy learning new techniques and building your sewing confidence
- You would like to understand common trouser fitting adjustments and learn simple ways to improve the fit of future projects 
- You would like to learn in a friendly and supportive group environment.

This workshop is not suitable for complete beginners.

This workshop is limited to 6 participants to make sure everyone receives plenty of support throughout the day.

Tea, coffee, water and a light lunch are provided.

If you would prefer to bring your own lunch, please let us know upon arrival if you need it refrigerating.

The premises is wheelchair accessible and there is free onsite parking.

We offer no refunds, however, if you can no longer attend, you are welcome to transfer your ticket to another person, provided you share the new attendee’s details at least 24 hours before the workshop.

If you are not completely satisfied with the workshop, we will refund you in full.
